Leading apparel and youth lifestyle company Marc Ecko Enterprises announced the establishment of its new executive management team, highlighted by the appointment of Effy Zinkin as President of MEE and *ecko unltd. Marc Ecko will ascend to the position of Chairman of the Board and Chief Creative Officer.
MEE co-founder, Seth Gerszberg, will assume the responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Zinkin will also continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer until a replacement is hired.
"The past 12 months have been an extraordinary period of growth for our company, from the continued success of our various apparel brands and Complex magazine, to the recent debut of our videogame and entertainment division, Marc Ecko Entertainment. We believe that this team, further enhanced by the proven leadership of Effy Zinkin and the strength of our existing division heads, will enable us to reach even greater heights moving forward," stated Mr. Ecko.
Mr. Zinkin also plays an integral role in the Company's dedicated support of Tikva Children's Home, a charity committed to saving the lives of orphaned, abandoned, and abused children in Odessa, Ukraine. Prior to being named as COO in 2005, Mr. Zinkin had served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of MEE since 1999, and was previously an attorney with Smith, Stratton, Wise, Heher & Brennan in Princeton, New Jersey.
As Chairman and CCO, Mr. Ecko will oversee the strategic development and positioning of current and future videogame titles, film projects and other digital properties; editorial direction and expansion of Complex magazine; expansion of the Marc Ecko Cut & Sew and Red by Marc Ecko lines; and direction of branding and aesthetics across all Ecko-named brands.
