Citizen Watch Company (COA) has signed Paula Creamer, LPGA champion, and Emeka Okafor, starting power forward for the Charlotte Bobcats, to its Unstoppable international media campaign. These talented young athletes, both of whom won 2005 "Rookie of the Year" awards in their respective sports, personify the technology of the Citizen Eco-Drive watches: Unstoppable. The print ads launch in Fall 2006.
Paula Creamer, a favorite on the LPGA Tour, is recognized for her sense of style and fondness for the color pink as well as for her accomplishments on the course. Ms. Creamer achieved her first professional win, the Sybase Classic, even before graduating high school. She was the youngest woman ever to win a multi-round official LPGA event and, after winning the Evian Masters, she became the youngest and fastest LPGA player to reach $1 million in career earnings.
She was also the youngest to win at LPGA qualifying school and a member of the 2005 U.S. Solheim Cup team during her rookie year. Currently, Ms. Creamer is ranked 6th in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, including 10 top 10 finishes thus far in 2006.
Emeka Okafor bears the distinction of being the first ever draft pick for the Charlotte Bobcats, and second selection overall in the 2004 NBA draft. Before turning professional, he attended the University of Connecticut, from which he graduated with honors in finance.
While there, he led the men's basketball team to victory in the 2004NCAA championship, winning awards ranging from Most Outstanding Player to Big East Player of the Year.
