Bon-Ton Stores announces management promotion & changes

Fashion, apparel and accessories retailers Bon-Ton Stores Inc announced a reorganization of its senior management, effective immediately. Stephen R. Byers has been promoted to Vice Chairman with the following divisions reporting to him: Stores, Operations, Private Brand, Merchandise Planning and Allocation, and Internet Merchandising. Mr. Byers will continue to report directly to Byron (Bud) Bergren, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Byers was previously the Executive Vice President, Carson's Stores and Visual Merchandising. In addition, Anthony J. Buccina, Vice Chairman, President – Merchandising, has assumed additional responsibility for marketing and sales promotion and will continue to report to Mr. Bergren. James M. Zamberlan has been appointed Executive Vice President, Stores and Visual Merchandising, for all 278 stores.

Mr. Zamberlan was previously the Executive Vice President of Bon-Ton Stores and Visual Merchandising. David B. Zant continues in his position as Vice Chairman, Private Brand, Planning and Allocation, and Internet Merchandising, and Edward P. Carroll, Jr. continues in his position as Executive Vice President, Sales Promotion and Marketing.

Mr. Bergren, commented, “I am extremely pleased that the management committee has accepted these responsibilities as we continue to refine and strengthen the Company's team in order to realize our plans for future growth and profitability.”

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates 271 department stores and seven furniture galleries in 23 states in the Northeast, Midwest and upper Great Plains under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's and Younkers nameplates.
