Rado, the Swiss watchmaker known for watches of exceptional strength and unique design, has partnered with brand ambassador Nobu Matsuhisa to create a special edition of the Sintra Automatic.

The Nobu Sintra Special XXL Automatic is an enhanced version of the original design, which will be available as a numbered edition.

The Nobu Special Sintra XXL Automatic was designed using the original shape and body of the Sintra XXL. Enhanced features include eight blue sapphires that are located at the 12,3,6 and 9 hour markers.

The traditional Rado anchor is featured in silver, and is against a silver dial. The case-back is engraved with Nobu's logo and signature and features the individual number of the timepiece.

Matsuhisa says, "The Nobu Sintra Special XXL is a very important watch to me for many reasons. Not only is it the best watch for me to wear since it is scratchproof, heat resistant, and can handle anything my wrist comes across in the kitchen, but the watch supports a cause that is very dear to me and does so much for children in need."

Rado's partnership with Nobu was created with the idea of combining food with timepieces in an abstract and design oriented photographic exhibition.

Nobu was given the challenge of creating ten dishes that were inspired by Rado timepieces, and display each culinary creation in a way that resembled the design of each watch.

The exhibit will be featured around the country atmultiple Rado retail partners through 2007.
