Timberland PRO is proud to work with FFA

To strengthen its shared passion for service and leadership via civic engagement, Timberland PRO will sponsor a day of service at the National FFA Convention on October 26, 2006. This inaugural event is the culmination of three years of work between Timberland PRO and FFA.

Timberland PRO has been a proud supporter of the FFA for the past three years. Previously, the company has supported the National FFA Organization through the Washington Leadership Conference service training and service day.

"Timberland PRO is proud to work with FFA, which encourages high standards of service and leadership," said Jim O'Connor, director of marketing for Timberland PRO. "Our efforts in Indianapolis will promote the communities in which we live, work, and play through the introduction of the National Day of Service."

The National FFA Day of Service will be marked with an address by Timberland president and CEO Jeff Swartz. The address will be given to thousands of FFA members attending the second general session at Conseco Fieldhouse. A believer and practitioner of corporate social responsibility and volunteerism, the focus of Swartz's address will be a "Call to Service."

Swartz is one of 19 founding CEOs selected for President Bush's task force on national service, Business Strengthening America. As CEO of Timberland, Swartz encourages volunteerism in the company through the Path of Service program that provides

Approximately 1,000 FFA members and Timberland PRO volunteers will commemorate the National Day of Service by participating in various service projects throughout the greater Indianapolis community.
