Johnson scored a major victory on Sunday, November 19th, taking home the 2006 Nextel Cup Series championship. In winning the Nextel Cup Series, he became the first driver in the sport's history to win the championship, the DAYTONA 500 and the Brickyard 400 in the same year.
Since he started racing in the Nextel Cup Series in 2002, he has won more than 20 points races, the most by any Nextel Cup Series driver.
