Hasbro Inc has signed a deal with REEBOK International to manufacture the Versaflex PLAY-DOH collection of toddler footwear with PLAY-DOH compound inspired gel-cushioning material built into the heel.
The collection was developed to give youngsters comfort, flexibility and fun as they learn to walk and run. The new REEBOK PLAY-DOH sneaker line is available at Kids Footlocker, Sears and Shoe Show stores nationwide. PLAY-DOH is under license from HPG, the licensing arm of Hasbro.
The PLAY-DOH Versa Classics have been developed based on the specific needs of toddlers one to three years old. In addition to gel-cushioning, the sneakers feature REEBOK'S Versaflex technology, which keeps growing feet comfortable through special grooves in the outsole that allow for proper foot and arch development.
Wide upper construction that matches the natural shape of toddler's feet and lightweight materials that permit children to walk naturally. The sneakers are also equipped with fasteners that shut quickly so toddlers can immediately jump into playtime.
“Kids have been unleashing their imagination by creating masterpieces with their hands and the beloved PLAY-DOH modeling compound for 50 years,” said Leigh Anne Cappello, vice president of marketing for Hasbro's Preschool Brands.
“We're now bringing the PLAY-DOH compound fun factor to the feet with the Versaflex PLAY-DOH sneakers. The combination of REEBOK'S Versaflex technology, designed to meet the needs of toddlers' growing feet, combined with the rainbow of bright PLAY-DOH compound colors makes these kickers appealing for both kids and their moms.”
The Versaflex PLAY-DOH collection is available for an approximate retail price and come with two 1-ounce cans of PLAY-DOH molding compound. The sneakers -- toddler sizes 4-10 –are available in two fun styles and six brilliant colors.
