Wal-Mart Stores Inc announced that it plans to voluntarily withdraw the listing of its common stock on NYSE Arca Equities, Inc., formerly the Pacific Exchange. Wal-Mart's common stock will continue to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol WMT.

The NYSE Group Inc recently informed Wal-Mart that NYSE Arca Equities Inc intends to focus on primary listings of securities that are not also listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

As a result, Wal-Mart has decided to voluntarily withdraw its listing from NYSE Arca Equities, Inc. in order to eliminate duplicative administrative requirements and costs resulting from such dual listing.

Wal-Mart does not expect this decision to have any effect on the trading market for or liquidity of its common stock.
