The brooch, which can be attached to the necklace, is a representation of a reclining panther with emerald eyes and a black onyx nose.
In the same creative vein, another highlight of the sale is a beautiful brooch (illustrated right) of sapphires, rubies, emeralds and diamonds, showing a peacock perched on an oval sapphire.
The exceptional signed Cartier pieces in this sale also include an elegant sureté pin produced in 1925 and made up of a heart-shaped diamond weighing 7.97 carats suspended from a row of diamonds.
