Kellwood announced the appointment of Tom Pastorello as Kellwood director of e-commerce, according to Robert C. Skinner, Kellwood chairman, president, and chief executive officer.
"In order to succeed in the apparel sector today, every company must have an e-commerce strategy as part of its business mix. We have added a director of e-commerce to solidify and further develop our web business platform. Tom has a broad background of 20 plus years in direct to consumer including e- commerce and retail applications, and will provide the leadership across all Kellwood divisions as we grow our e-tail capabilities for our key brands," said Skinner.
"Kellwood already has several successful e-commerce initiatives in place with XOXO, Baby Phat, and Phat Farm. We launched our Sag Harbor e-tail site in late December and plan to go live with our Koret site in early spring 2007," added Skinner.
Prior to Kellwood, Pastorello served as director of program management for Barnes&Noble.com where he was responsible for enterprise-wide portfolio and program management for the web. Before Barnes and Noble, he was with Williams-Sonoma, Inc. from 1990 to 2004, where he held various positions in management and systems.
At Williams-Sonoma, Pastorello developed and implemented several successful and popular web commerce sites in the specialty retail industry such as Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, West Elm, and Hold Everything.
Pastorello is based in New York and reports to Michael Saunders, vice president and chief information officer for Kellwood.
