Financial Results for Fourth Quarter 2006 versus Fourth Quarter 2005: Net sales for the fourth quarter of 2006 increased $5.4 million, or 6.8%, to $85.0 million. Wholesale segment net sales in the fourth quarter of 2006 rose $4.6 million, or 6.9%, to $71.1 million. Retail segment net sales increased $0.8 million, or 6.1%, to $13.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2006. Maidenform's net sales performance by channel of distribution is highlighted in Exhibit 1 of this press release.
Wholesale Segment: Department Stores & National Chain Stores Net sales from the department stores and national chain stores increased $3.2 million, or 7.5%, to $45.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2006.
These net sales results were due to solid performance in Maidenform bras, continued strong growth in the shapewear category which benefited the Company's Flexees and Collection MTM products, in addition to an expanded assortment and additional door distribution in the Company's full-figure Lilyette brand.
