Weinstein brothers, who chaired the Miramax Film Corporation, mostly known for movies like Chicago and Shakespeare in Love, are venturing into fashion with the acquisition of Halston.
For the acquisition, Weinstein brothers have joined hands with Hilco Consumer Capital.
The Halston brand, with its elegant designs, has influenced a generation of designers. The designer has dressed up the rich and renowned like Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minelli and Andy Warhol.
Halston also attracted celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah and Janet Jackson.
The Weinsteins, plans to use the brand in their films.
