Avon Products Inc announced that its Board of Directors has nominated Gary M. Rodkin to join its Board. Mr. Rodkin will stand for election at the company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 3, 2007. He replaces Stanley C. Gault, who will be retiring from Avon's Board on May 3 after 22 years of service. Avon's Board continues to number ten Directors.

Mr. Rodkin, age 54, is President and Chief Executive Officer of ConAgra Foods Inc, a position he assumed in October 2005. ConAgra Foods is one of North America's leading food companies with almost $12 billion in annual revenue and a brand portfolio that includes Healthy Choice, Orville Redenbacher's and Chef Boyardee.

Before that, Mr. Rodkin was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo Beverages and Foods North America from February 2003 to June 2005, where he led a $10 billion organization which included leading brands such as Pepsi, Gatorade, Quaker Foods, and Tropicana. Mr. Rodkin joined PepsiCo in 1998 after it acquired Tropicana, where Mr. Rodkin had served as President since 1995.

From 1979 to 1995, Mr. Rodkin held marketing and general management positions of increasing responsibility at General Mills, with his last three years at the company as President, Yoplait-Colombo.

"We are very pleased that Gary Rodkin has agreed to become a member of Avon's Board of Directors," said Andrea Jung, Avon's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "His extensive brand-building experience at prominent consumer companies, as well as his broad operating experience, will serve Avon well as we continue to build our brand on a global scale."
