The new Gander Mountain store at 12160 Technology Drive held its grand opening ceremonies March 30 through April 2.
During the three day event, several thousand people visited the new 65,000 square foot store. They saw a huge variety of outdoor products that appeal to hunters, anglers, boat enthusiasts, ATV riders, campers, kayakers and hikers.
Shoppers crowded the aisles while more than 80 sales associates scurried to restock displays and offer advice on products. In the archery lane, kids learned the safe handling of bows and arrows while shooting balloons for prizes.
"We're delighted to have our newest store here in Eden Prairie," said Gander Mountain CEO and president Mark Baker. "We continue to upgrade and improve the shopping experience for our customers with new products like Tracker boats and displays and signage designed to make shopping easier."
"It is always great to open a new store and see the enthusiasm that our customers and sales associates have for the outdoors."
Several Gander Mountain "Pro-staff" members, dressed in green and white jerseys, roamed the store, relating stories about hunting, fishing and living outdoors.
The Pro-staffers are professional hunters and anglers who promote the outdoor way of life for Gander Mountain while providing the average sportsperson with inspiration to spend more time outdoors.
Featured was Michael Waddell, well-known hunting personality and host of Gander Mountain's We Live Outdoors television show which airs weekly on The Outdoor Channel.
Waddell kept the grand opening crowds entertained with his home-spun charm and stories about deer and turkey hunting.
Gander Mountain also highlighted their "keeping the outdoors safe for tomorrow" theme, renewing the company's commitment to safety and conservation in the outdoors.
The Eden Prairie store's electricity is all derived from renewable sources, as is the electricity for all the Gander Mountain stores in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Colorado and Kansas.
