Polo Ralph Lauren appoints Bob Wright as BOD

Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation announced the appointment of Bob Wright to the Company's Board of Directors. His appointment brings the number of Board members of Polo Ralph Lauren to twelve.

We will benefit greatly from Bob's experience at NBC and General Electric where he guided expansion into new markets and new audiences, helping to transform the business into a truly global brand," said Ralph Lauren, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Polo Ralph Lauren. "Bob is one of the most respected and accomplished executives in today's business world. We look forward to working closely with him and welcome his counsel."

Currently, Mr. Wright serves as the vice chairman of the board, an executive officer and a member of the Corporate Executive Office of the General Electric Company. Mr. Wright joined NBC as president and chief executive officer in 1986, and was made chairman and CEO of the network in June 2001.

He then served as chairman and chief executive officer of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies, from May 2004 to February 6, 2007, and continued to serve as chairman of the NBC Universal board of directors until May 1, 2007.

Mr. Wright is responsible for NBC's transformation from a broadcast network into a global media powerhouse with leadership in television programming, station ownership and television production. Prior to his association with NBC and NBC Universal, Wright served as president of General Electric Financial Services and, before that, as president of Cox Cable Communications.
