R.G. Barry Corporation, the Dearfoams company, was one of a select group of companies named this week to receive the 2006 Partners in Progress award from Sears Holdings Corporation.
The prestigious award is presented annually to supplier companies that provide Sears Holdings with quality products and services, from apparel, appliances and tools to marketing, facilities design and technology. Less than one percent of Sears Holdings' more than 41,000 suppliers earn the award each year.
R.G. Barry Corporation Chief Executive Officer and President Greg Tunney, Senior Vice President Sales and Dearfoams Brand President Pam Gentile and Dearfoams Brands National Accounts Manager Greg Ackard accepted the award during ceremonies Tuesday at Hoffman Estates Ill., hosted by Sears Holdings Corporation Chief Executive Officer and President Aylwin B. Lewis.
“We value our strong relationship with Sears and are sincerely honored to have been selected for this meaningful recognition,” Mr. Tunney said. “Sears is consistently an innovative and successful Dearfoams retailer.”

The Partners in Progress program allows our company to recognize those suppliers who have gone above and beyond to support Sears Holdings' in our efforts to better serve our customers and grow profitably by working together.”
The Partners in Progress program recognizes suppliers for product or service quality, innovation, diversity and overall market performance. The winners were selected from nominations submitted by Sears' associates who purchase goods and services for the company in 2006.
