Encouraging student fashion designers to specialize in designing fashions for the plus-size body, National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) will be offering, for the third time, a $1000 scholarship to a currently enrolled design student.

For the third year in a row, National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) is proud to announce their offer of a $1000 scholarship to a currently enrolled fashion design student. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage student fashion designers to specialize in the design of fashions for the plus-size body.

Sarah Rosandick was the recipient of the NAAFA 2010 Fashion Design Scholarship. "Sarah's professionalism, passion and unique design vision put her ahead of all other applicants." said NAAFA Chairman Jason Docherty.

Students currently enrolled in an accredited Fashion Design School are eligible to apply for the NAAFA Plus-Size Fashion Design Scholarship.

The scholarship winner will be asked to participate in the 2012 National NAAFA Convention Fashion Show on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel where s/he will be introduced as our Fashion Design Scholarship winner.

Application deadline is July 1, 2012.

Founded in 1969, NAAFA is a non-profit civil rights organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for fat people. NAAFA works to eliminate discrimination based on body size and provide fat people with the tools for self-empowerment through public education, advocacy, and member support.
