These workshops are aimed at introducing latest trends and best practices in teaching and learning to the school teachers. All the training sessions will be conducted by internationally trained Pearl Academy Faculty members who have a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from Nottingham Trent University, UK. The very first workshop was organized at the Noida campus of Pearl Academy.
During this series, workshops will be held in more than ten cities covering Noida, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Dehradoon, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, and Patna among others during the entire year. Addressing the five key areas - Importance of a creative teacher; 21st century students – generation Y, digital learners; significance of innovation; evolution as a creative learner; and creative careers – art, design fashion, these workshops have been designed specially by the Pearl Academy Trainers’ Team keeping in mind the education set up in India.
Enthusiastic on launching this initiative for school teachers, Mr. Sharad Mehra, CEO, Pearl Academy, said, “At Pearl Academy, we believe that knowledge increases when we share it. ‘Creative Teacher Of The 21st Century’ is one such faculty development workshop series where our certified trainers with PGCHE from NTU will be sharing their knowledge, experience and exposure with school teachers which our faculty has gained over the years. During these workshops, participants will learn from Pearl Academy experts about the importance of pedagogy in developing their students into deep learners. They will also be exposed to relevant examples in some of the best practices and technologies in the education domain worldwide. Besides, they will interact with their fellow teachers and gain from them as well.
At Pearl Academy’s Noida Campus, where the workshop series kick-started its journey, the sessions were conducted by Ms. Nandita Abrahim, VP – Corporate Relations, Ms. Sharmila Katre, Professor and HOD, Department of Business & Technology, and Ms. Sumita Sarkar, Professor and HOD, Department of Communication Design. The participating teachers were well attended and well taught by the trainers. Teachers also enjoyed learning the art of making teaching a fun activity which will help them conduct more engaging classes at their respective schools.
