The Kwa-Zulu Natal Fashion Council is pleased to announce the offer of an exciting new fashion design capacity building programme: “21 STEPS TO RETAIL”

The KZNFC aims to develop and mentor designers to a level where they can manage sustainable businesses. Designers are hereby offered the opportunity to bridge the gap between their design skills and business knowledge.

 The curriculum includes:

1.     Technical Skills Training – inspiration, trends, textiles, mood-boards, pattern-making, etc

2.     Business Skills Training – brand management, costings

3.     Personal Development

4.     Mentorship – Design and create a collection

The workshops will be held over a period of 3 months with training taking place 2 – 3 days per week.

Venue: KZNFC Office – 102 Lilian Ngoyi (Windermere) Road, Morningside.

Workshops will commence in August 2013.

The selected designers must be able to commit to the training sessions, travel to the venue in Durban and be able to finance a collection of approximately 12 garments.
