Teams and students from across LCF have collaborated to run exciting workshops with communities this summer.

LCF’s Widening Participation Unit, the Centre for Sustainable Fashion and a host of LCF alumni and current students met with young people from Hackney and Tower Hamlets to explore and create sustainable fashion.

At the ‘Bring and Fix’ workshop, teams had fun with sustainable fashion through 4 micro-workshops which covered fashion production, fashion styling and photography, retail and branding, and media and communication.

Team leaders, LCF students and young people from the surrounding community enjoyed a day of upcycling, blogging, designing and illustrating. Students from MA Fashion and the Environment as well as BA (Hons) Fashion Illustration, BA (Hons) Fashion Photography, and BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles, joined in with the young fashion creatives.

The workshops hope to raise awareness of fashion’s impact on the world and to empower the next generation to take creative and important action themselves.
