As part of a new project, the Centre for Sustainable Fashion will help support Small and Medium Creative Enterprises, offering their knowledge and expertise to help these businesses make a success of their creative ideas.

The Creative Hub project is led by Newham College and other partners include Westminster Kingsway College and the University of East London. The project has been awarded £1.2 million through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The exciting new venture will see CSF using their share of the funding to deliver specialist workshops and host business surgeries.

The kind of training CSF will be able to offer is essential for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as these organisations are not always able respond to rapid changes in the market.

Along with the project partners, CSF will provide the specialist skills and insights needed to address the gaps in knowledge of fashion designer SMEs, textile SMEs, print SMEs, and SMEs in the digital and visual media sectors.

CSF have ongoing involvement with inspiring and driving fashion enterprise. Recently, the centre hosted key industry figures for a discussion lunch exploring opportunities for a sustainable future for fashion and discussing perspectives on the industry and its relevance to society, economy, environment and culture.
