Macomb Community College (MCC) is introducing 14 new fashion design classes this fall.
The college is offering the classes through its Center for Community Education, which offers non-degree-credit classes. This will help people seeking training for new career opportunities, maintaining job certifications or personal enrichment.
The first four of the 14 fashion design classes are being offered this fall. The four courses are Fashion Illustration I, Fashion Illustration II, Fashion Design Theory and Basic Construction I.
Subsequent classes will be held over the next few semesters at the college's South Campus, at 12 Mile and Hayes in Warren.
Though classes may be taken individually, only those who complete all the classes chronologically can earn a certificate in Fashion Design.
With the fashion courses introduced in the MCC, Macomb County, known as the home of factories, tool and die shops, blue-collar workers and struggling farmers, is slated to become a hotbed of high fashion.
