French luxury fashion house Chloé yesterday announced appointing Riccardo Bellini as its chief executive officer (CEO) replacing Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye, who will step down on November 30. Bellini, who has been CEO of Paris fashion brand Maison Margiela since 2017, will join the Chloé, owned by Swiss luxury goods holding company Richemon, on December 1.
Before joining Margiela, Bellini held a series of management and marketing positions at Diesel, and then became the executive vice president and chief marketing officer at the denim brand in 2015. Both Diesel and Maison Margiela are owned by Renzo Rosso’s Only The Brave. Bellini’s appointment comes as Richemont’s fashion businesses, including Alaïa and Dunhill, are struggling to keep pace with bigger rivals, according to European fashion media reports.
