The dazzling splendour of a torrid dawn is the main inspiration of the Ermenegildo Zegna Spring-Summer 2012 collection that plays around colours bleached under the sun, soft silhouettes and high performance finishing in fabrics that give as a result an impeccable contemporary elegance with an extremely natural and nonchalant attitude.
The sophisticated and informal aspect of this Spring Summer collection comes from the studied combination of Soft Contrasts: organic materials mixed with treated and technical fabrics, colour blocking in pastel tones, sharp jackets worn on soft jog-pants and rustic suits combined with smooth and shiny shirts.
Innovation in fabrics plays around pure and natural materials that are given special and high performance finishing. Above all, pure silk has been developed and treated to produce interesting tactile effects: shiny and mat, ironed and creased, organic and super-technical.
Microsilk – creased resin pure silk trench coats and jackets
Silkco – smoothed and waxed silk/cotton for raincoats and jackets.
Precious blends of silk, cotton and linen have been printed and treated to create knitwear and jersey that appear to be bleached by the sun.
The shiny effect has been applied also on the iridescent surface of bronze leather for shoes, sandals and bags.
