Pitti Immagine announced that Peter Pilotto will be womenswear guest designer at Pitti W 10. “We invited Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos because we were looking for a modern approach to feminine elegance that is constant, profound and has the ability to think about itself”, says Lapo Cianchi, the Pitti Immagine Director of Communications & Special Events.
“We saw this in the evolution of their collections, a knowledgeable process that develops around surprising colors, body-conscious draping and light sculpting. It was also interesting to see how the designers' two distinct spirits come together and reinterpret fashion's classic elements.”
“Talking to them here in Florence, as they were taking pictures upon pictures, adding different signs and symbols to their mental archives, we came to understand the cosmopolitan attitude that characterizes their creative process and leads them to seek sources of inspiration that are totally different in terms of space, time and culture and to work with artists, web designers, architects and set designers. The exclusive event they are planning for Florence will revolve around the 2013 spring-summer pre-collection and will be the manifesto of this process.”
