This coming June, Pitti Immagine will present the fourth edition of “WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO”, the project, produced in cooperation with Pitti Immagine Uomo, Altaroma and L'Uomo Vogue, that searches for and finds new Italian or Italy-based talents.
During Pitti Uomo an international panel of top buyers, fashion journalists and opinion makers will judge the collections submitted by the 6 finalists and then announce the winners. The finalists are Francesco Alosi, Erïk Bjerkesjö, Andrea Cammarosano and Lucio Vanotti for prêt-à-porter; and Move Officine del Cappello and YOU footwear for accessories.
Their collections will be shown to the Pitti Uomo audience in a high-tech display at the heart of the fair, on the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion in a setting created by architect Alessandro Moradei, designed to show-off the collections in the best possible way.
“WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO is the key project in promoting new talents in men's fashion”, says Raffaello Napoleone, the Pitti Immagine CEO, “it is a springboard that allows them to leap onto the international stage, to let the press and top buyers become acquainted with their respective styles and creativity. In brief, it opens new horizons for their careers as fashion designers”.
One of the innovative highlights at this edition is the participation of yoox.com, the multibrand virtual fashion and design store which, in its capacity as the Pitti online retail & media partner will award the most “cutting edge” finalist the yoox.com Prize. The winner will have the opportunity to present a preview of the 2013 Spring-Summer collection to the world exclusively on yoox.
WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO is part of “The New Performers”, the program produced by Pitti Discovery to create opportunities for new fashion talents and for those who work with fashion, bringing together different artistic and aesthetic disciplines.
