Karl-Heinz Müller further said, “BBBarcelona's success is overwhelming – we are happy about the positive response from all sides. At the same time we are looking forward to a great event in our home base Berlin. Visitors can expect a unique event as well as an outstanding brand portfolio including 500 brands, labels and designers.”
Karl-Heinz Müller comments the plans for BBBarcelona in July 2006 as follows: “In July we will implement our kid's segment veryKIDS in Barcelona. The South calls for a platform in progressive kids wear.”
Müller does not want to go into detail with regards to the announced catwalk shows: “All modalities have to be clarified with Fira de Barcelona and especially with the Catalan government first. This ambitious project can absolutely succeed if it's realized under the right conditions. But we do not see ourselves again in the sole financial responsibility. Without a doubt it needs a financial support from the officials.”
The Barcelona catwalk shows are not supposed to replicate existing and established shows. New show concepts are planned.
Karl-Heinz Müller: “We want to address to the new generation of designers and offer them a platform that reflects their culture. At the same time we will integrate the strong Spanish Design culture in this project, Catalan designers in particular. The realisation of this project puts Barcelona in an international focus and represents a great opportunity for the city in an international context beyond fashion.”
The dates for the upcoming tradeshows for selected brands in July 2006 are as follows:
