Moscow’s CPM (Collection Première Moscow) is posting record figures for the event drawing to a close on Saturday. From 5 to 8 September 19,250 visitors came to the Expocentre fair grounds in the heart of the city. Boasting 1,520 collections from 36 countries on exhibition space measuring 54,250 m² the 19th CPM has been the biggest trade fair held so far.

The companies exhibiting in the newly created segment Body & Beach looked back on a positive fair. The area for Lingerie, Beach and Homewear generated high visitor traffic. “Here we have laid the foundations for a new section of the trade fair that we will continue expanding for the coming event in February next year.

Further international market leaders will be taking part next time. Many exhibitors were so pleased with both the orders taken and leads produced that they have already confirmed their participation at the next CPM Body & Beach today,” explains CPM Project Director Christian Kasch.

After four busy days spirits were also high across the board in the Kids’ area. On enlarged exhibition space of 5,220 m² many national and international top-notch exhibitors showcased their collections alongside the market leaders. Integrated into the hall once again after prolonged absence the Kids’ Catwalk was also well attended. Italy was the biggest international joint stand with 75 kids’ brands organising its own Kids’ catwalk show.

Beaming faces were also seen in the Fashion & Denim area. Here Young Fashion, Casual and Denimwear as well as lifestyle exhibitors featured with custom-built stands made possible by the move into Hall 3. “The companies have managed to leverage this move to present themselves in line with hall structure,” said Mirjam Dietz, Igedo’s Executive Director for Fashion. Highlights included the choreographed catwalk shows with different presentations every day.

The coming CPM in February 2013 will be all about the anniversary since it will be the 20th edition of the fair. Commenting on this Philipp Kronen said: “As an organiser of international fashion trade fairs we are more than pleased to have focused particular attention on Russia early on. Here we have been able to provide fashion with a strong platform for successful business. We are proud to say that Russia’s leading international fashion fair can look back on a successful and rapid growth at what will then be its 20th edition.”

The programme of side events at CPM including the Russian Fashion Retail Forum as well as the 47 catwalk shows in total also posted a higher number of participants and spectators. “We are pleased that the International Lingerie Market Forum was received so well on the first day of the trade fair,” added Christian Kasch.
