Continuing the House’s support of the Green Carpet Challenge, Gucci is pleased to dress Javier Bardem in an eco-friendly tuxedo for the world premiere of Skyfall, the latest in the legendary James Bond series (007), in London, England.

Bardem is the first man to appear in Gucci for the Green Carpet Challenge and will wear a Made to Order black three piece Signoria tuxedo made from 100% organic wool with recycled-satin lapel and trim detail, a 100% organic cotton white dress shirt and recycled satin bowtie.

Creative Director Frida Giannini said, “Designing with organic and recycled materials was an inspiring challenge to marry my creative vision with sustainability standards, and I am particularly delighted for Javier to join us in this effort. At Gucci we will continue to pursue our interest in eco-friendly and biodegradable materials.”

The Green Carpet Challenge is a dynamic project founded by Livia Firth and British journalist Lucy Siegle which pairs glamour and ethics to raise the profile of sustainable style at the world’s most high profile red carpet events. In December 2009 when Livia’s husband Colin Firth received a Golden Globe nomination for A Single Man, Livia Firth elected to attend all red carpet events, including the Oscars, dressed solely in sustainable fashion. Her aim has been to raise the profile of ecological and social justice in the fashion industry.
