Parisian fashion house Christian Dior has unveiled its much anticipated debut spring/summer 2013 campaign under the aesthetic guidance of its new creative director Raf Simons.

Shot by Simons’ fellow Belgian friend and ex-colleague Willy Vanderperre from Jil Sander, the edgy, minimalistic advertisement features a stark white-walled surreal background sprinkled with occasional splashes of colour in the forms of blue skies and flowery blooms.

Posing as mannequins, the models – Daria Strokous, Anna Martynova, Daiane Conterato and Marie Piovesan – are shown wearing the brand’s latest clothing and accessory collections in the campaign.

The new line features a range of well-tailored suits in classic black, pop-coloured summer dresses, scarves and voluminous floral-printed skirts in rich orange and blue shades.

The 44-year-old Belgian designer Raf Simons took over as the head of design at Dior in April 2012. The designer presented his début collection for the house at Paris Fashion Week in September 2012.
