L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) recognises and celebrates the strength of Australia's next generation of fashion stars.
Independent Runway presented by MINI will set the scene as LMFF showcases Australia's future style leaders. It will take place on March 03, 2006 at 8:00PM.
One such emerging star is talented Melbourne designer Helen O'Connor. A fashion graduate from FIT in New York, O'Connor has worked for several leading fashion houses in the US and Australia before launching her own label, Thurley, last year.
The Thurley collection exudes an otherworldly feel with its vintage shapes and soft flowing textures, blending femininity, sexiness and ultimate glamour, which has meant Thurley is already creating quite a buzz within the industry.
“I am really excited at the opportunity that Independent Runway has provided for me to showcase Thurley for the first time. The show offers me and other emerging designers a stepping stone for our labels that we otherwise wouldn't have been able to achieve,” says O'Connor.
Thurley is exclusively stocked in Cactus Jam, Salt, Jade, Mellie, Denim Lab, Filly and Mare, Natalie Denning and other boutiques in Queensland and has plans to grow this season.
Thurley will feature at LMFF's Independent Runway presented by MINI.
