In the ‘Knowledge Lounge’ in Hall C, visitors had the chance to hold discussions with experts, as well as to attend an interesting programme of lectures and panel discussions with representatives of GOTS, the International Association of the Natural Textile Industry (Internationaler Verband der Naturtextilwirtschaft e.V. – IVN), get changed!, the Fair Wear Foundation and the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR). The programme covered a variety of subjects including cotton, forced labour and sustainability and competitiveness.

This year’s ‘Create Green Breakfast’ organized by Create Berlin was devoted to the subject of recycling. Paul Doertenbach of I:CO, Carina Bischof of the Upcycling Fashion Store in Berlin and Jana Kern of Kern Kommunikation were the panellists, the discussion was moderated by Moritz Grund. The next Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will be held from 2 to 4 July 2013.

Additional exhibitor statements:

Boombuz, Austria - Christoph Lechner, Brand Manager: “For us, the aim of taking part in the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin for the first time was to make new customer contacts. In view of the positive response to our shoes from retailers and customers, we are delighted with the fair and looking forward to coming back for the next edition in the summer.”

Kavat, Sweden - Hans-Werner Gottschalk, Customer Service Germany, Austria, Switzerland:

“This was our first time at the Ethical Fashion Show and will certainly be back again for the summer event. The flair of Germany’s capital was clearly evident here at the ewerk, a great location. The echo from international dealers was very good and they were delighted with our leather shoes.”
