Ken Okada is a Japanese woman residing in Paris, who masterfully combines lightness and style. Annette Görtz sees details, quality and silhouettes as the main criteria, while Anett Röstel from Berlin convinces with flowing shapes in unusual materials.
Fashion labels that stand for trend and exclusivity converge here in the style of the elegant New Yorker Street. New among them are, for example, Marimekko from Finland, Gabi Lauton or the Max Mara group member label Marella. Exhibitors from Ambiente to Kapalua to Nicowa to Zucchero offer fashion retailers transparency and a quick overview of the current fashion scene.
The Norwegian label Oleana is displayed next to Giesswein - long-time top contenders in the country-style casual look. Christa Confezioni from Italy, across from Ewa I Walla, contrast with the Knots Ahead label from Spain, Henry White or the sporty statement of Sportalm. The contrasts accent the various styles that combine to offer unlimited variety.
Whether Chau Sanh Ho, Olga Barychnikova, My Zoo, Treble & Bass or Koi Archicouture - they all stand for the fashion power of the Rhine region. In collaboration with the AMD Akademie Mode Design (Academy of Fashion Design) Düsseldorf, young designers were chosen that offer true niche products and individuality.
In cooperation with the business magazine KARRIERE ("Career"), part of the Handelsblatt Group, the KARRIERE YOUNG FASHION AWARD was awarded for the first time in July 2005. The three winners now utilise the FASHION GALLERY platform to present their talents. First place went to Julia Behrens, who combines business and fashion in a casual style, accenting femininity through subtle sexiness.
Second place went to Meike von Zweydorff, who creates multi-faceted ensembles, combining masculine fabrics such as pinstripes with sophisticated femininity. With his outfits for men, Adran Sommerauer was awarded third place. Comfort and Zeitgeist characterise his businesswear.
The Bar Central, the Espresso Bar with Buyers Lounge and the Catwalk Café are favourite meeting places in the FASHION GALLERY. Daily shows guarantee plentiful visitors, this time around showing various compositions by FASHION GALLERY exhibitors.
The FASHION GALLERY presents itself as "Art de Vivre" in its entire atmosphere. It especially attracts specialist fashion retailers characterised by differentiation. Are there not even punk versions in the collections of these avant-gardes that manage to lend a couture touch to even classic evening outfits?
