Gucci is pleased to announce that this coming June will mark the debut of a unique MADE TO MEASURE capsule collection designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini and Lapo Elkann. This exclusive collection, conceived as “Lapo’s Wardrobe,” will be offered within Gucci’s MADE TO MEASURE program – a personalized, luxury sartorial service for the modern day gentleman – and will be unveiled for the first time during the Spring Summer 2014 Men’s Fashion Week in Milan at the opening of a new dedicated Gucci menswear store in the city’s Brera district.

This unique creative collaboration draws inspiration from Gucci’s Made in Italy tradition and sartorial expertise for a new take on MADE TO MEASURE – encompassing menswear, womenswear, and accessories. The result is a series of ultra luxurious designs in which Frida Giannini’s creative vision meets Lapo Elkann’s passion for interpreting his own Italian legacy of style and sophistication.

Giannini said, “Gucci’s MADE TO MEASURE program is the pinnacle of our Made in Italy expertise and allows each man to express his own style impeccably. Lapo perfectly embodies my vision of Italian style as an attitude, an instinct to interpret fashion in an individual yet sophisticated way. Lapo pays great attention to the details and is never afraid to take risks, so designing a MADE TO MEASURE wardrobe with him was a pleasure.”

The MADE TO MEASURE “Lapo’s Wardrobe” collection will initially be available at Gucci’s boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, where specialized staff will assist the client throughout the fabric selection, fittings, finalization and delivery of the garment, which can require from 4 to 6 weeks.

Lapo Elkann said, “I am excited and honoured that the Lapo’s Wardrobe project is being brought to life by Gucci, which is synonymous for Italian excellence and craftsmanship. It was a great experience to build this capsule collection together with Frida: we share a love and respect for tradition, yet we are not afraid to dare and experiment. It is the combination of both that I believe is exemplified in the pieces we designed and created.”

A contemporary statement of classic tailoring, the MADE TO MEASURE “Lapo’s Wardrobe” collection comprises 27 looks – 23 for men and 4 for women. Painstaking attention characterizes each and every piece, and striking details include exclusive linings, vests, ties, suspenders, and handkerchiefs. The collection includes not only MADE TO MEASURE suiting but also accessories such as MADE TO ORDER leather goods and shoes as well as jewelry.

This capsule collection is made possible through Gucci’s established MADE TO MEASURE service, an advancement of the House’s philosophy of personalization and signature attention to detail. In addition to offering fabrics from an exclusive selection, the service provides for customizable options with special finishes and details and allows for personal tailoring according to the client’s individual measurements. Each garment is impeccably tailored for a truly unique experience. The range of exclusive luxury materials includes over 80 textiles and 178 possible combinations of colors and fabrics.

The House’s MADE TO MEASURE service is completed by a customized selection of shirts from a wide range of fabrics and colors – 25 textiles allowing for over 60 possible combinations of colors and fabrics. In addition, Gucci offers a MADE TO ORDER service for signature men’s shoes – allowing for selection of the material, color, width, as well as embossing of one’s initials.
