The book will be presented in Milan on 23 February during WHITE, neoZone, cloudnine which are being produced directly by Pitti Immagine for the first time.
Antonio Marras - A monograph devoted to Antonio Marras, one of the most interesting of today's fashion designers. The Italian designer's work is documented in a thorough but not celebratory way, through short essays that examine the different themes of his poetics. An interview, an accurate biography and a list of all his shows complete the volume.
At the same time a lavish set of illustrations reflects the development of his ideas and creativity, all the way up to his most recent, prestigious appointment as artistic director of Kenzo Woman.
Toyz Style - They say that it all began in Hong Kong in 1997 when artist Michael Lau showed some personalized G .I. Joes that he had transformed from soldier dolls into a series of hip-hop characters. Or perhaps it was the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, with his “super flat” world of dolls somewhere between ingenuity and subtle perfidy that pointed the way.
These toys (or in street style slang, “toyz”) are limited editions for adults, often series interpreted by designers, pop artists, graffiti artists, illustrators, cartoon illustrators and recently, even fashion designers. In fact, it was the Prada fashion designers who really made them into a fashion phenomenon.
