M&S holds on to Davies for Kids collection
14 Feb '06
1 min read
Marks & Spencer (M&S) has engaged fashion designer, George Davies to give a unique look to its children's collection.
This is said to be Stuart Rose, Chief Executive's latest attempt to rejuvenate the flagging kidswear section.
George Davies is developing a Per Una range of kidswear.
Analysts believe that kidswear will be a major sector with growing demand and hence, the competition will become intense.
Profits seeking big industry players will all push their way to children's wear section, it is perceived.
There were speculations about Davies leaving
M&S
but, after prolonged discussions M&S was successful in convincing him to stay on.
George Davies is the founder of brands like the 'Next' and 'Asda'.
