With three short weeks remaining before the launch of BC Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2006, organizers have much to celebrate. In partnership with HollyNorth Production Supplies and Duocom, BC Fashion Week (BCFW) will provide to their designers a stage that combines multi-media, technology and creative ingenuity.

The runway for this season will be U-shaped, 100 feet in total length and 5 feet wide. Venue capacity for Fall/Winter 2006 will include 70 front row seats.

In collaboration with the BC Fashion Week Executive Creative Director, Urban Visuals and Duocom (both known internationally for their quality staging and audio-visual expertise), HollyNorth has created a venue that will be unlike anything that has been offered in Vancouver before.

With a runway that is comprised of mirrored plexiglass to create an impression of infinite icy depth and a specially treated surface fashioned to a finished hoar frost look, winter will arrive in Vancouver in April this year.

“The special surface has been custom cut, creating two striking pinstripes of high contrast, with the end result being a runway with a quarried look, much like a slab of marble with its smooth facet and textured edges.

With special effects such as atmosphere, artificial falling snow, lite ethereal ground fog, heavy cascading fog and cryo-jets, each program promises to offer a unique setting for the excellent Canadian designs being showcased”, explained Mike Kaerne, President/GM of HollyNorth Production Supplies.
