The new edition of the MICAM ShoEvent, the Italian footwear exhibition, has kicked off in Milan from Thursday.

The event, which runs from 16 to 19 March 2006, will be hosted again in the innovative halls of the new Fiera Milano-Rho complex, after the September debut in the new spaces was met with great success.

The growth trend is confirmed by the numbers of the upcoming edition: 1,642 exhibitors registered, marking a 16 percent increase on March 2005, and the collections will be distributed into 8 halls, for a total surface area of 72,694 square meters (+32 percent).

Also continuing to grow is the interest of foreign exhibitors, which have increased by 35 percent, to 515. This year, international exhibitors are from Spain, Portugal, the U.K., France, Turkey and Brazil.

Again this year, MICAM ShoEvent is displaying collections with a superior stylistic content, which range from trendy to elegant, from the most up-to-date styles for the contemporary woman to exclusive models for the classic man, always with superior quality achieved with specially selected materials, careful workmanship and attention to detail.

On Thursday 16 March at 11:00 am, in the presence of Deputy Minister Adolfo Urso and ANCI Chairman Rossano Soldini, the Honourable Gianfranco Fini will inaugurate the four days of the Milanese event. After the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Porta Est entrance, the Honourable Fini will meet with the press and the executive committee of ANCI at the Sala Sagittarius, on the first floor of the Centro Servizi.
