“I am pleased to state that trading is in line with market expectations and the Board looks forward to accelerating growth across all of our operations.
“The acquisition of Moda America - with a turnover of US$20 million in the year to end-2005 - is a highly significant development as it offers a unique opportunity for Marchpole to exploit its proven brand management skills to expand the business into the world's largest market, the USA.
“I am confident that the restructuring of the Board and management provides for a robust structure which will serve the Group well for the next stage of its development.”
Marchpole has been in the apparel business for over 30 years, predominantly as licensee for Yves Saint Laurent, and working with designers such as Jasper Conran, Tomasz Starzewski and Boateng.
In 1973 Marchpole was incorporated under the name Marchpole Limited and in November 1997 floated on the London Stock Exchange as Marchpole Holdings plc, where it has maintained a listing since.
