Rick Pratt, the Halifax businessman owns Winsby's, the shoe store that has become an institution since Ken Winsby founded it 45 years ago.

Dean owns Harlequin, the women's clothing store that has been serving customers at the corner of Mountain Road and Portledge Avenue for 23 years.

Pratt is opening for business on April 10 at a small space of just 800 square feet next to Dean.

He will first focus on work and dress shoes. The ladies boutique will carry some casuals but not much, Pratt said.

He plans to come out with lot of brands that are presently unavailable in Moncton.

Moncton's a different market from Halifax as women's fashion might be influenced by Montreal rather than Toronto.

Pratt hopes Winsby's, a satellite store in Moncton will be warmly received by customer base he already has in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
