National Institute of design (NID) students, Rahul Misra, Deepti Toor and Samar Firdos will have a chance of their lifetime to pool in their talent with some of fashion world's biggest names to weave their magic at Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW) scheduled to be held on Thursday.

The three students are among the six young designers selected under the Generation Next Designers category for the LIFW along with two National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) students and a student from Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi.

The three have innovative ideas in terms of textile, fashion and thought processes, said Somesh Singh, Apparel Design and Merchandising co-ordinator, NID.

Toor's designs for LIFW incorporate abstracts in myths, culture, religion, poetry, tales and epics into her creations inspired by cubism of greats like Pablo Picasso and George Braque, said Singh.

She has used the latest technology in screen printing by digitally transferring Cubist paintings onto her clothes.
Designer Ashish Soni was impressed by new trend of basing designs on different schools of painting and is planning to use the same in London Fashion Week, Singh said.

Toor said that she is inspired by international famed designers like Miyake, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Kenzo.

Firdos, NIFT fashion graduate and studying textile atNID, was inspired by nature to create his designs.
