Benetton Group earnings flat, net profit up 2.8% in 2005

The Parent Company, Benetton Group SpA, closed the 2005 financial year, using Italian accounting principles, with net income of €58.3 million against €39.1 million in 2004. The Board resolved to propose a dividend of €0.34 euro per share (equal to the previous year) at the shareholders' meeting, with a coupon detachment date of 15 May 2006.

Finally, the Board of Directors approved the new procedure for related party transactions and for significant transactions, which also implements provisions of the new Italian Corporate Governance Code (Codice di Autodisciplina) for listed companies.

Presently, Benetton Group is present in 120 countries around the world. Its core business is clothing: a group with a strong Italian character whose style, quality and passion are clearly seen in its brands: the casual United Colors of Benetton, fashion oriented Sisley, Playlife leisurewear and Killer Loop streetwear.

The Group produces around 110 million garments every year. Its retail network of 5,000 contemporary stores around the world offers high quality customer services and generates a total turnover of approx. €1.7 billion.
