Mario Moretti Polegato, Geox Founder and Chairman, accordingly with its international expansion policy, inaugurated its first two mono-brand shops in Brazil in two high level locations, one in Rua Oscar Freire in San Paolo and the other one inside the shopping centre of Iguatemi in Porto Alegre.
“The Geox' patented products, a mix of technology and Italian fashion, will fit the tastes of the Brazilian costumers” this is what affirms the Chairman Mario Moretti Polegato.
The Brazilian market, characterized by a strong shoe industry tradition, represents a great potential of growth for Geox both for the a high percentage of population (188 million inhabitants) and the growth rate of GDP per capita and the increase of the purchasing power of the average family (5.1 percent as against 2004).
Geox shoes will be on sale in Brazil in mono-brand shops at a medium-high price range. This choice is in line with the company's commercial policies implemented worldwide.
Geox has already identified other relevant Brazilian cities where it could develop its commercial activity in the short-medium term. For example: Rio de Janeiro, San Paolo, Brasilia, Fortaleza e Belo Horizonte.
Geox operates in Brazil according to a commercial policy focused exclusively on the opening of mono-brand shops, at least in the starting phase, with the clear intention to create a direct relationship with the costumer. The Brazilian market represents for Geox a starting point for the expansion in the most relevant markets of the South America area.
