Trusted brands precuts offering company DUFRY AG is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. José Carlos Costa da Silva Rosa (50) as the Regional Chief Operations Officer (COO) for South America as from April 17th 2006.
Mr. Carlos Rosa will be in charge of managing Brasif that was acquired by Dufry on March 23, 2006, as well as any other Operations that Dufry has in South America.
Brasif is the leading duty free operator in Brazilian travel retail market for more than 20 years.
It operates 48 shops with a retail surface of approximately 12.000 square meters and has close to 1.500 employees.
Mr Carlos Rosa has 13 years senior management experience in the retail business. In his last position as the Retail Director with ANA-Aeropuertos de Portugal he was responsible for travel retail development and maximizing revenues at the most important Airports in Portugal like Lisbon Airport, Oporto Airport and Faro Airport. Under his supervision a total of 80 concessions, 185 shops and restaurants and 21200 m2 of retail area were developed.
With the acquisition of Brazif Dufry has also created a fifth region, South America, with a new regional office: Rio de Janeiro.
Mr. Carlos Rosa will lead the operations from there and with his professionalism and profound experience he will enhance Dufry's position in South America. With the objective of expanding the business in South America; Mr. Rosa is full of expectations and zest for action.
Dufry is honored to have taken on Mr. Rosa as its Regional COO for the new and significant growth in South America.
