In the first quarter of fiscal 2006, sales of the Hugo Boss fashion group rose 13 percent to €459 million (Q1 2005: €406 million).

Adjusted for currency effects, the sales increase was 11 percent. The Hugo Boss Group thus sustained the sales growth of previous quarters.

Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) grew 13 percent to €87 million (Q1 2005: €77 million).

The increase in income before taxes to €87 million corresponds to growth of 14 percent over the figure for Q1 2005 of €76 million. Net income increased 15 percent to €60 million as of the end of the first quarter 2006 (Q1 2005: €52 million).

For 2006 as a whole, the Managing Board of Hugo Boss is forecasting an increase in currency-adjusted sales of approx. 10-12 percent in comparison with 2005. EBIT is expected to increase more than sales.
