Ray Ban Sun Optics India announced that it would launch designer Polo Ralph Lauren brand sunglasses next year with a view to expand its share in the growing luxury eyewear market in country.
This will be the 16th brand the company would be marketing in India, which includes three in-house brands Ray-Ban, Vogue and Arnette.
The company intends introducing 100 models across its in-house brands this year.
Ray-Ban markets those brands for which the parent company Luxottica either gets a licence or those which are aquired, said Harsh Chopra, Managing Director, Ray Ban Sun Optics India.
Of the 100 models from its three in-house brands. Of which 43 new models would be from sports brand Arnette.
Ray Ban wants to consolidate its share in the Rs 200 crore premium eyewear market Chopra said.
A turnover of Rs 51.6 crore was achieved last year which was about 50 percent of market share. The industry grew by 15 to 20 percent, he said.
The company launched its new spring-summer collection, 2006 on Tuesday from its three in-house brands with a price range of Rs 2,390 and Rs 4,900.
