JCPenney store coming in spring 2007 at Eden Prairie Center

Nineteen new stores have been added to Eden Prairie Center in the past two years, representing some of the nation's most popular national and regional name brand retailers. Recent additions include Chico's, TGIFriday's, Express, Express Men, Limited Too, and Potbelly Sandwich Works.

Average household income within three miles of Eden Prairie Center is $117,318 compared to the Minneapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area average of $77,413. Population over the next five years in the Eden Prairie Center trade area is expected to grow by 7.1%, which is 50% faster than the U.S. average. In addition, the total employment reported within a 5-mile radius is 155,100.

JCPenney currently operates eight department stores in the metro market: Roseville, Edina, Minnetonka, Maple Grove, Maplewood, Burnsville, Coon Rapids and Woodbury. The 104-year-old retailer opened a store in St. Paul in 1920 and its first Minneapolis stores in 1929.
