For the last 30 years Jürgen Lohrberg has been part of the Ispo, the international sporting goods trade show.
A total of 57 Ispos under his wings turned him into 'Mr Ispo'. On May 31st he started his well-deserved partial retirement.
On April 1st, 1969 Lohrberg became Project Manager for Münchener Messe- und Ausstellungs GmbH (what is now Messe München GmbH). Since then he has been an integral part of Messe München and shares responsibility for the creation and realization of many exhibition projects in the consumer and investment goods sector.
In 1999, he took over the position of Manager of the Business Unit Consumer Goods Exhibitions. He is extremely well known and esteemed among his international colleagues thanks to the responsible direction of the trade show projects Ispo winter (since 1977) and Ispo summer (since 1979), inhorgenta europe (since 1974), Golf Europe (since 1993), as well as Fairway (since 1995).
During his 37 years of involvement in the trade show business Jürgen Lohrberg worked on no less than 153 trade shows and exhibitions.
Tobias Gröber will succeed him as Business Unit Manager as of June 1st 2006, and will be responsible for the Ispo Group's trade shows as well as the Golf Europe and Fairway.
Ispo, as Europe's leading sporting goods show, takes place in Munich is located in the geographical center of Europe. Ispo's major product categories include all kinds of sporting equipment, apparel, accessories, and other sports-related products. The trade show's visitors consist of retail and wholesale sporting goods buyers from all over the world.
