AIFW (Amsterdam International Fashion Week) offers a more extensive programme than ever before; filled with catwalk shows, lectures and exhibitions.
Highlights include the shows of G-star, Mart Visser Collection, Hans Ubbink, Blue Blood, Percy Irausquin, parties at Jimmy Woo and Stadsschouwburg, lectures, exhibitions at FOAM, De Nieuwe Kerk, Biederberg gallery and Studio Apart and much more.
Other big news is the launch of “Don't Feed The Models” – the official soundtrack of AIFW; and the development of a new public programme of exhibitions, parties and shop events called “Laundry Days”
SHOWS – The final official show schedule will be announced soon, but participation of the following brands has been already been confirmed: G-star, Mart Visser Collection, Blue Blood, Percy Irausquin, Hans Ubbink, Ilja Visser, Daryl van Wouw, Emily Hermans, Der Kommissar and Edwin Oudshoorn. The prestigious Frans Molenaar Award show will also be presented at the official AIFW venue once again.
Amsterdam International Fashion Week will take place at the Westergasfabriek (former Gas works) venue. The planned move to Museum Square has been postponed for at least one season.
Support your Local Designer – this season, AIFW launched a new programme to fund the shows of breakthrough designers, call the Promise Programme.
A panel of industry experts selected Daryl van Wouw, Percy Irausquin, Ilja Visser, Emily Hermans and Edwin Oudshoorn. 250 Limited edition T-shirts of these upcoming designers will be sold at –amongst others- the Bijenkorf in Amsterdam and Arnhem.
