True North Gems is pleased to announce its 2006 exploration programs, which will commence shortly.

True North will continue with work on each of its emerald, sapphire and ruby programs in 2006.

In addition to its gem programs, True North will also commence geological work on the Bandito nickel project (formerly Corundum Dome).

True North is committed to increasing its focus on the Greenland ruby project, given the encouraging results to date.

True North has allocated the following amounts for exploration in 2006, in addition to budgets for ongoing gem processing and cutting:

Project Location Budget
Fiskenaesset Ruby Greenland $1,000,000
Tsa da Glisza Emerald Yukon Territory $500,000
Beluga Sapphire Baffin Island $250,000
Bandito Nickel Yukon Territory 250,000

Budgets will change dependent on field conditions and as exploration results warrant. Announcements regarding individual projects will be released shortly.

True North Gems is a public company listed on the TSX Venture exchange and is engaged in the exploration and development of North American coloured gemstone deposits.

The company is a pioneer in Canadian coloured gemstone exploration and owns a 100% interest in the Yukon's Tsa da Glisza emerald property and the rights to earn a 100% interest in the Baffin Island Beluga sapphire property and the Fiskenaesset ruby deposit in Greenland.
